Gently clean the jack using a cotton swab: snip off one end so that only a small portion of cotton remains and dip in a small amount of rubbing alcohol. If you hear crackling with another headset, the cause may be a dirty, cracked or worn jack, or a problem with your computer's sound card. Plug a different headset into the device. You may need an external amplifier to supply the correct amount of power to drive the headset. Hi Id recommend checking your sound settings to make sure your output is set to your RIG headset. If you are using a desktop computer, test with a different sound card. If the problem stops, the issue may be either that the volume was too loud for the headset to handle, or that the device's amplifier doesn't have enough power to drive the headset. It makes no difference what audio settings I use. Turn the volume down on your computer or device. I was given a set of wireless rig 700hx and I havent been able to get them to work. If you do, looping the wire and taping it down at the point of the loose connection may temporarily stop the noise until you can have the connection re-soldered or replace the headset. Wiggle the cord at the plug and at the headset while moving the mic to see if you can locate the loose connection. If it says 'Microphone access for this device is off, change it to On. Have you tried enabling access to your Microphone in Privacy If not, go to Settings> Privacy> Microphone. After a good amount of time, I then plugged the headset in to charge and then saw the charging led light come on. If you still hear the crackling, the problem is likely a loose wire somewhere in your headset or cord. Im not sure if this will work for you as well but what I did was unplugged the headset for a bit (around 10 or so minutes) pressing and holding the on button for a few seconds at a time through it in an attempt to drain the battery. Plug the headset into another computer, a smartphone or other device and determine whether the problem persists. ![]()
